1 km School Residency
This residency is for school communities who are exploring with moving learning out of the classroom setting this year and don’t want to leave it up to chance, or put it on the individual teachers to figure out how to do it.

A whole week dedicated to learning through the community!
For a full week, your school becomes the headquarters for community adventure! Your staff and students have my full leadership, attention and curiosity as I lead them through an investigation of the 1 km surrounding your school site.
At the end of our time together, the entire school community leaves with a foundation of place-based practices and a deeper connection to the community.
Residencies often include: mapping & drawing activities, scavenger hunts, storytelling, community walks, historical investigation - all planned and delivered in a developmentally appropriate and engaging manner.
